Good coffee and vanilla ice cream
Saturdays are great for meeting friends, and for sneaking in nice little dates.
We had a cuppa coffee (two actually, for each of us) before heading to meet our friends for Zach & Cyn’s engagement dinner; and after that, a spontaneous trip to Macs after midnight for some vanilla ice cream cone.
And I just have to say, Papa Palheta is a dream. We were recommended by Soo Ming, a coffee fanatic who really knows his beans, after lamenting how difficult it is to get good coffee here in Singapore. That is, apart from the Kopi-O and Kopi-C which I love too.
So, Papa Palheta is a retail shop selling coffee beans, but they’re also set up like a cafe for you to taste their coffee. It runs on a tipping basis – and I really admire their guts for doing that in kiasu Singapore, and the people there are really friendly. (btw, we gave $20 for 4 cups of coffee – think that’s decent).

Shoes under the table
Yikes, it’s been a long time since my last post. It’s been a combination of a lack of inspiration and too many hours spent in the office.
So I looked under my table today and realised how many pairs of shoes I have in the office. Some of them are heels which I wear to work and not back home, after realising how slow and cumbersome they make me. And some are ‘emergency heels’ for situations when I’m in the wrong shoe for the wrong event.
I thought I had given up on heels until I tried on a pair from Maripe. The one I got was called ‘glove’ and it glides on really like one – I love soft, silky smooth leather! It’s a peep-toe booty with a slingback. Shall post pics soon.

Toy camera for the road
Ended work at VivoCty today, and decided to walk around for a bit. I walked away with a really cute Ikimono 110 film camera! And some postcards to put up on my wall. Hoping to get some good shots in Ubud this Friday.
Pic from Four Corner Store – they have the cutest 110 cameras, and vintage Russian cameras. Is it true that you can see things through Russian cameras?

Bikes + Eggs
Did a little bit of shopping during lunch (at TANGS, of course). Got myself an adidas tote with motifs of bicycles on one side, and the other that says “Watch out for bikes”. I love.
Also bought this Nixon tee with a huge silkscreen of an egg for Jon. He loves eggs. If there were fried chicken wings, he would love that too.

I heart Penguin Classics
I work just opposite the massive, shiny thing ION Orchard, but only just explored the area last Friday when Jon and I were on leave.
Found a shop that I absolutely love on the 4th floor – The Wright Gift, and I bought a piece of wrapping paper showing the spines of Penguin Classics. So pretty! I think I’ll frame it up as a poster.
