Shoes under the table

Yikes, it’s been a long time since my last post. It’s been a combination of a lack of inspiration and too many hours spent in the office.

So I looked under my table today and realised how many pairs of shoes I have in the office. Some of them are heels which I wear to work and not back home, after realising how slow and cumbersome they make me. And some are ‘emergency heels’ for situations when I’m in the wrong shoe for the wrong event.

I thought I had given up on heels until I tried on a pair from Maripe. The one I got was called ‘glove’ and it glides on really like one – I love soft, silky smooth leather! It’s a peep-toe booty with a slingback. Shall post pics soon.

10×24 blogathon

I thought I’ll be happy to rest once this event is over but I’m missing it already. I’m thrilled at how it turned out, happy that the participants truly enjoyed themselves, and glad that I got to hang out with my colleagues. It feels like a school camp all over again. How nice.

I’m still trying to recover from it all – but here’s a chronological account of it all.

Here’s what happened before the event during the wardrobe fitting session:

Here’s what the bloggers wrote during the 24 hours on our new TANGS website.

And here’s a few post-event posts:

This is probably the longest night on the job and it’s the most satisfying so far.

Media Party @ 15 MINUTES

This is what I was busy with last week before the big blogathon event. Can I just say I heart 15 MINUTES? The people behind it are awesome, food exceeded all expectations and the venue was just too cool. Side note: we’ve launched our new tangs.com.sg! How exciting.

Rummaging through the closet

It’s certain. I have nothing to wear for an event this Thursday and I’m officially panicking. It always happens! But as I was rummaging through, I found something that could work for my brother’s wedding end of this year. I forgot I had this!

Prototype A

Finally completed this! It took a few Sunday afternoons of hand-stitching cos the sewing machine wouldn’t run through the rubber.

Jon needed a new coin pouch, so I made this with used bicycle inner tubes and old SAF army uniforms since the old ones are now obsolete. The army uniform is great – it acts as the inner layer of the pouch, is thick and strong, and makes for a nice camo design, methinks. Together with the rubber material, this actually is quite sturdy and strong.

I think I’m getting addicted to sewing rubber? I can’t explain it but it actually feels quite good, almost the same as writing on a banana skin with a marker pen. If you haven’t tried that, u should!
